Esquire Application and Reservation Form

 

Thank you for choosing ESQUIRE Caucasian Mountain Dogs. Esquire conducts a limited, select breeding program and puppies are available to qualified buyers by application and reservation. We are available to answer breed inquiries and questions about our upcoming litters at 440-286-2374. We welcome your telephone calls and hope you will visit our home and see our beautiful Caucasian Mountain Dogs in person

 

*To reserve a puppy, please complete the following application and return it to Esquire along with a Reservation Fee in the amount of $500. Mail to:

or use the convenient secured online Pay By Check.

Once your Reservation Fee is received, and application are reviewed*, ESQUIRE will contact you to finalize puppy arrangements.
 
*Receipt of Reservation Fee and application is NOT a binding sales contract. ESQUIRE reserves the right to refund the Reservation Fee and not sell a puppy.
 
This application questionaire is intended to protect the dogs and protect the buyer in three ways:
1) Finding suitable, permanent homes for ESQUIRE puppies;
2) Match making! Getting the right puppy into the right home;
3) To identify areas where more breed information is needed.
 
All applicants complete SECTION A. Home guardian/companion complete SECTIONS A and B. Family farm owners also complete SECTIONS A, B and C. Applicants interested in a Caucasian Mountain Dog as open range livestock guardian please complete SECTION A and D.

SECTION B - To be completed by home guardian/companion applicants and family farm applicants:

 

Do you understand that the CMD has historically been used for livestock and home protection and that the breed is naturally suspicious and aggressive toward strange dogs and people?
 
Do you accept the responsibility of keeping this breed under control at all times via leash, voice and/or fence control?
 
Do you accept the responsibility of socializing this puppy off property 2-3 times a week as required by ESQUIRE? Do you accept the responsibility of introducing new people to your home regularly as part of the socialization process as required by ESQUIRE?
 
Do you accept the responsibility of attending formal classroom obedience with your puppy until good canine citizenship is achieved as required by ESQUIRE?
 
Do you agree that ownership of a Caucasian Mountain Dog is an active responsibility throughout the lifetime of the dog?
 
Do you understand that despite best efforts to train and to socialize during puppyhood that dogs of this breed may at times be inappropriately aggressive at times or in particular situations with animals or people?

FAMILY FARM:

If you expect the dog to work on a family farm, please answer the following questions.

How many head of livestock do you expect your dog to care for?
What predator causes you the most concern?
How many head of livestock have you lost to predators in the past year?
Do you have other livestock guardian dogs?
What are their breeds, ages and sex?
 
Do you have other dogs not livestock guardian dogs?
What are their breeds, ages and sex?
 
Have you had a livestock guardian dog before?

How long did you have him/her?
What happened to him/her?

Please describe your farm, indicate fences, barns used by your livestock and placement of the house. Please indicate type and height of fencing and note any area not permanently fenced (such as driveways, creeks, etc.)
