Alena of Esquire, Therapy
Dog
Ch. Alena of Esquire,
co-owned and loved by Vicky Hayes of Cleveland, OH has
again passed the biannual recertification test as a Delta
Society Pet Partners Therapy Dog Level I. "Lena" is
thought to be the first certified CMD Therapy Dog in the
world.
Recertification requires
passing a 2 part test. Part A is the equivalent of a
Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. Part B is a mental and
physical stability for work in a hospital environment
test. The dog must demonstrate exemplary behavior around
ambulatory devices, be bumped into, not startle at
dropped pans, not react negatively to people moving in an
uncoordinated manner, clumsy petting, and
shouting.
Lena does hospital rounds
at least once a month. She also qualified for an ARBA
championship in 1995. Congratulations to "Lena" and
Vicky. Keep up the great
work!
- April, 1998 -
Making breed history, "Cezar" won TWO (2) Best in Shows
at the American Rare Breed Association (ARBA) Cherry
Blossom Classic weekend in Washington, D.C., the largest
allbreed rarebreed show in the United States. "Cezar"
also took home the ARBA Memorial Award for the most dogs
defeated.
